Car dragged along – collision with train in Wildon: 60-year-old dead

According to the police, the accident happened around 8.35 a.m. at an unrestricted level crossing in the Wildon district of Neudorf. A 60-year-old driver from Germany collided with a train after he wanted to turn left from an accompanying road next to the tracks over the level crossing onto the federal road. “The car was dragged around 300 meters, even over the next level crossing,” says police spokesman Fritz Grundnig. For the driver, any help came too late, he succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident. According to the police, the 60-year-old may have been visiting relatives in Styria. There were around 40 passengers on the train, one of whom was taken to the hospital for clarification with a slight headache.
