31 drivers have a complaint on their necks because they were driving too loudly or too fast in Bern at the weekend, for example. This is announced by the canton police in Bern. From Friday afternoon to Sunday morning, she carried out targeted traffic checks in downtown Bern and the surrounding area.
Among those displayed are seven drivers who took part in the jubilee parades on Friday evening. The police noticed them “because of unnecessary noise”.
Six vehicles confiscated
Two advertisements were issued on Seftigenstrasse where the police carried out a speed control. 16 other drivers who were also traveling too fast received a fine.
22 reports are related to further violations of the Road Traffic Act. For example, there were complaints about defective tires and unauthorized modifications to the exhaust system. Six cars were seized.
Securitas controls in Basel’s problem area
In Basel, too, the police are increasing the pressure on car victims: Specifically, due to the high volume of traffic on the Uferstrasse, a temporary driving ban is being issued. This applies during the week from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. as well as around the clock on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, as reported by the Justice and Security Department of Basel-Stad.
Furthermore, the access to Westquaistrasse at the level of Hafenstrasse / Hochbergerstrasse is controlled by Securitas from Thursday to Saturday in the evening and at night. Only as many vehicles are allowed to enter Westquaistrasse as there are parking spaces there.
Feeder not affected
Finally, driving in the oat kernel zone on Südquaistrasse and Grenzstrasse is prohibited from the roundabout into Südquaistrasse and from the Neuhausstrasse / Grenzstrasse junction. According to the JSD, the measures initially apply to the summer months.
