If you plan to crisscross the Basque coast this summer, you will pay dearly for it in terms of rental car prices. Biarritz tops the ranking of cities where people spend the most to have a vehicle this summer (period from the beginning of May to the end of August), according to the Carigami comparator report that Le Figaro exclusively reveals. In the elegant seaside town, it is necessary to count 505 euros per week. That is an increase of 8.8% compared to last year when what was once Empress Eugenie’s vacation spot already dominated the ranking of the most expensive cities. “The rate there has almost doubled in two years (+96.4%), because Biarritz has the particularity that more spacious and luxurious cars are rented there, and therefore more expensive, and also combines all the factors that contribute to making raise prices everywhere”decodes Pierre Feisthauer, development manager at Carigami.
