Carbios: presentation of the ‘Biocat Award’ to its Scientific Director, Professor Alain Marty

This award is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the biotechnology sector. Professor Alain Marty is thus distinguished for his major achievements in the field of enzymatic recycling of plastics and PET fibers. This prize rewards in particular his research work carried out on enzymatic optimization and the use of the exceptional specificity of enzymes in the service of the circular economy of plastics. Since 2004, this prize has been awarded to scientists who have distinguished themselves by outstanding achievements in the field of biocatalysis.

The Biocat Prize was awarded within the framework of the 10th International Congress of Biocatalysis (Biocat) which took place from August 28 to 30, 2022 at the Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH). Over 370 science and industry participants from over 33 nations attended. Professor Alain Marty also had the honor of giving the inaugural conference of this congress.
