Carbios successfully closes the CE-PET project co-financed by the State as part of the Future Investments Program, now integrated into France 2030, and operated by ADEME, which demonstrated the application to textiles of its PET biorecycling technology – 02/02/2023 at 18:12

• The Carbios technology demonstrated with bottle and tray waste has been transposed to a pilot scale on textile waste, a major step forward for this sector which represents 60% of the world’s PET production

• A world first with the very first textile fibers produced in 100% recycled PET (r-PET) via the biological process developed by Carbios

Carbios (Euronext Growth Paris: ALCRB), a pioneer in the development and industrialization of biological technologies to reinvent the life cycle of plastics and textiles, announces that it has validated the final key stage of the CE-PET research project, co- financed by the State as part of the Future Investments Program, now integrated into France 2030, and operated by ADEME (Agency for the Environment and Energy Management), and of which Carbios was coordinator alongside its academic partner INRAE via the joint TWB service and TBI research units. The CE-PET project, lasting 4 years, initially made it possible to confirm the enzymatic PET recycling process on a pilot scale in order to size the industrial demonstrator – operational since September 2021 – capable of today to process plastic PET waste. The first feasibility of the process, both environmentally and economically, has made it possible to take a new step towards its industrialization.
