Carbon monoxide alarm – charcoal grill in the basement poisoned Linzer family

A family of five in Linz-Margarethen probably contracted carbon monoxide poisoning on Thursday morning. All members of the family were taken to the hospital as a precaution. The youngest victim was only three years old, the oldest 64.

The fire brigade, the Red Cross and the police went to Linz-Margarethen at around 9:05 a.m. on Thursday because a 32-year-old Afghan national was suffering from symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning. The professional fire brigade Linz searched the entire building and was able to determine the cause of a still warm charcoal grill in the basement. The family, five people between the ages of three and 64, were taken to the Sisters of Mercy Hospital as a precaution.
