Not the rapper’s first time: Cardi B has been charged with assault for throwing the microphone.

After Cardi B (30) threw a microphone into the audience during a performance, the police are now investigating assault. The Las Vegas Metro Police Department confirmed to Variety that a woman had filed a complaint.

“According to the victim, on July 29, 2023, she attended an event at a building on the 3500 block of Las Vegas Boulevard,” police said. “During a concert, she was hit by an object thrown off the stage.” There has not yet been an arrest or a subpoena in the case.

Fan threw drink over Cardi B

What happened? During a performance in Las Vegas, Cardi B was showered with a drink from the audience. The rapper responded by throwing her microphone into the crowd with full force. A woman was hit in the head. It is not entirely clear whether she was also the person who splashed Cardi B wet. Videos of the incident tend to suggest it wasn’t.

Recently, there have been a number of cases where audience members throw things onto the stage at concerts. Harry Styles (29) was recently hit in the head by a smartphone, rapper Drake (36) in the hand. Singer Bebe Rexha (33) suffered a wound on her face that had to be stitched up by being thrown by a cell phone.

Cardi B has previously been charged with assault

Cardi B was previously on trial for assault. The rapper and ex-stripper was involved in a fight at a New York strip club in 2018. Cardi B pleaded guilty in 2022. This got her out of jail. She was instead committed to 15 days of community service.
