Cardiovascular diseases: free screenings offered during Women’s Heart Days: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

Cardiovascular diseases constitute the second cause of death in France. In women, however, it is the leading cause of death. However, 74% of them do not identify cardiovascular diseases as being the leading cause of female mortality, as indicated by the Agir pour le coeur des femmes foundation. Screening therefore remains insufficient.

To try to overcome this scourge, Agir pour le cœur des femmes is launching Women’s Heart Days (JoCF), organized in different health establishments across France. The objective? “Screen women even more massively in areas sometimes far from care pathways”can we read on the site of the foundation.

Free cardiovascular screenings for women in several French cities

Women’s Heart Days thus constitute a new system for screening cardiovascular diseases, based on the route created for the Women’s Heart Bus, which has crisscrossed France for several years to offer women free cardiovascular screenings.

The first edition will take place on March 6 and 7 in Marseille, at CHU La Timone and CHU Nord. On the program for these free screening days in 6 steps? Medical interviews, blood pressure measurement, lipid and glycemic assessment, electrocardiogram or even vascular Doppler ultrasound.

Other Women’s Heart Days will also take place elsewhere in France on the following dates:

  • March 9: MontDore (New Caledonia), Boulari Cultural Center
  • March 13: Issy-les-Moulineaux (Hauts-de-Seine), Sorella Multidisciplinary Health Center
  • March 21: Saintes (Charente-Maritime), Clinique Sur Moreau
  • from March 26 to 28: site of the Wallers Arenberg mining basin (North)

To benefit from this free screening, you must register in advance via Doctolib or the email address indicated by the health establishment organizing the day.

Ultimately, Agir pour le cœur des femmes aims to offer these screening days in more than 150 health establishments throughout France.
