Although Princess Carina and Prince Gustav live at Berleburg Castle in Germany, both are said to have been present at the birth of their second child, according to “Billed Bladet”. It is not known whether the small family is currently still in the USA.
At least the name of the newborn noblewoman is now known. Ralf Beke-Bramkamp, spokesman for the couple, confirmed to the “Siegener Zeitung”: “The daughter’s name is Mafalda.”

Prince Gustav’s sister Princess Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, 48, is said to have already commented on the birth. “It’s great that they had a second child – also for the little one, that he’s not an only child,” she said when she was approached by “Billed Bladet” on Amalienborg Palace Square. “I’m happy for her. First a boy and then a girl, that’s fitting.”

Family happiness thanks to a surrogate mother
On May 26, 2023, Princess Carina and Prince Gustav zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleberg became parents for the first time thanks to a surrogate mother. In August the offspring was christened Gustav Albrecht. Crown Prince Christian, 18, was one of the godparents. The birth of their daughter completes the family’s happiness.
