In May, Princess Carina and Prince Gustav zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg became parents for the first time – thanks to a surrogate mother. Now her son Prince Gustav Albrecht has been baptized.
Her heart’s desire came true three months ago: Princess Carina zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, 55, and Prince Gustav zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, 54, became parents for the first time. A surrogate mother gave birth to the baby boy in the United States. Now the little prince has been solemnly christened Gustav Albrecht.
Baptized son of Carina and Gustav zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg
The Danish royal family announced the happy event on their Instagram profile. Accordingly, the royal christening took place on Saturday, August 25th in the chapel at Berleburg Castle. In addition, the court shared four delightful shots of the big day and the little baptism, including two group pictures with the proud parents and other members of the royal family such as Prince Christian, 17. Prince Gustav Albrecht sits in a festive white christening robe on his mother’s lap and looks at the camera with curious eyes.
Princess Benedikte caresses her grandchild
Another heartwarming picture shows Princess Benedikte, 75, the grandmother of the christened prince, bending over the cradle where the baby lies. She lovingly holds one of her grandchild’s hands while she strokes his cheek with her other hand.
Six godparents for a little prince
The post reveals that Prince Gustav Albrecht has six godparents: “The prince, who is the son of Their Highnesses Prince Gustav and Princess Carina zu-Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, has six godparents, who the family will refer to as the prince’s godparents in the future Highness Princess Theodora of Greece, Ellen Hillingsø, Arabella Gaggero, His Highness Prince Franz-Albrecht and His Highness Prince Carl-Anton.
