2024 - Carinne Teyssandier: why was the host sentenced by the courts?

In 2016, then in 2017, Carinne Teyssandier was sentenced to a heavy fine. The host and columnist had been sued by her former governess.

Carinne Teyssandier defended herself in vain, justice had rendered its verdict. In February 2017, the host was ordered to pay 35,000 euros to her former governess. A few months earlier, as part of the guilty plea, the columnist of Telematin and her husband had been given a six-month suspended prison sentence and a fine of 5,000 euros for having employed a foreigner in an irregular situation at home. Accused of having concealed her employment between January and August 2015, Carinne Teyssandier had pleaded guilty. The plaintiff, Joanne Dimba, had announced her intention to seize the prud’hommes in order to obtain “financial compensation of around 40,000 euros”.

“I am not a slaver”had she defended herself in the columns of the Parisian before adding that the financial situation of his couple was very complicated and that they will have to pay their fine with the “savings plan” of their daughter. “My husband is a volunteer firefighter, he only earns 1,000 euros a month. The advisers of the Prud’hommes had estimated that the housekeeper worked as a domestic worker and that her expected salary (of 1,300 euros) was fictitious since she only received half of it to take care of the couple’s children.

“I admit my fault, even if I did all the steps for this person. I am condemned for having helped someone. The price to pay is a bit heavy. But that’s how it is. And above all, the court acknowledged that there had been no exploitation or concealed work”, then added Carinne Teyssandier. After her first conviction, the host worried about possible professional repercussions. “I’m not the first to have problems with the law, but I don’t know. It will surely depend on the media coverage. For the moment, I have received a lot of support, in particular that of William Leymergie. He was exemplary. I fell into his arms like it was my father’sshe described to the Parisian. When we have problems, he is always there. In 30 years in the business, he too has been in turmoil. He knows what it is.”
