Carinthia state elections – the expert analysis of the “Krone” elephant round

In the analysis talk after the discussion of the Carinthian top candidates, political experts discuss what has been said – and recommend “holidays with friends”. Also read the flash analysis of the elephant round by “Krone” editor-in-chief Klaus Herrmann.

“Peter Kaiser acts exactly as you would imagine a governor to be: calm and level-headed,” says Klaus Herrmann, Editor-in-Chief of “Krone”. Political scientist Kathrin Stainer-Hämmerle agrees: “As governor, he is unchallenged.” Gerhard Köfer (Team Carinthia) would come a little closer to him, but actually there were hardly any alternatives. “Köfer could have been a Hans Peter Doskozil for the Carinthian SPÖ if he hadn’t left them,” notes Stainer-Hämmerle. Herrmann predicts that he will probably “snack” a few votes with him everywhere, from every party. Most likely, however, with the FPÖ, whose top candidate Erwin Angerer does not fit into the image of the Blues at all. “Salzburg Krone” boss Claus Pándi: In contrast to Herbert Kickl, he is “a normal, civilized person within the scope of the freedom spectrum”. . But as such he “also has the problem of not being so spectacular, not getting as much attention. This is probably disadvantageous for maximizing votes.” Also disadvantageous – for ÖVP man Martin Gruber: “That the federal party is not much help”, he is associated with party colleagues at federal level, namely “Nehammer, Tanner and Karner”: “Who would want that already?” asks Pándi. The experts agree on one thing: As the only woman, gender advocate, climate protector and member of the Slovene-speaking ethnic group, Olga Voglauer stands out from the Greens in particular. “She says it’s a climate election, apparently that’s not such a big issue in Carinthia. But she’s right, climate should be a big issue,” says Herrmann. Looking at the pink alarm clock that NEOS candidate Janos Juvan had with him, he says: “One wonders what he has there?” Runde was perfect tourism advertising for Carinthia,” says Pándi: “Holiday with friends.” The flash analysis of the elephant round by Klaus Herrmann Peter Kaiser (SPÖ), cautious state emperor: In a way, the embodiment of the country floating above things -Kaisers: deliberate, reserved, never aggressive. Friendly but firm in tone. A guy – almost a bit out of date. Erwin Angerer (FPÖ), the mild Carinthian Kickl: They regularly appear together in the election campaign: the agitator Herbert Kickl, who comes from Carinthia, and his much milder Carinthian state chairman. For some, the member of the National Council is even too “soft”. Martin Gruber (ÖVP), the pitiful VP deputy: What can you achieve as an ÖVP candidate in Carinthia? Especially in times when the federal party can deliver anything but a short tailwind. Stormy times – the party governor is almost to be pitied. Gerhard Köfer (Team Carinthia), the chameleon: He was already with the Reds, with the Stronach people and is now a “Yellow”: The “Mr. Team Kärnten” is both combative and adaptable, has something on its shelf for almost every voter. So he should be one of the winners. Janos Juvan (NEOS), who would like to wake up: Why does the youthful 38-year-old always put an alarm clock on the desk? You don’t really know. He probably wants to annoy the rulers. But the Neos are likely to get too few votes for that.Olga Voglauer (Greens), the woman alone on the floor: The only woman among the six top candidates, the only one who is committed to climate protection without any ifs or buts – a very brave attacker, which, however, may not make it into the state parliament.
