Carl-Uwe “Charly” Steeb and Zani Suttle got engaged. The couple has been officially together for four years.

Former tennis professional Carl-Uwe “Charly” Steeb (56) has proposed to his girlfriend Zanele “Zani” Suttle (42). How The magazine “Bunte” reported that he asked for the entrepreneur’s hand in marriage on the beach in Mallorca. The wedding will take place within next year, Steeb also confirmed.

The couple now lives on the Spanish island. They met through Steeb’s friend Marius Müller-Westernhagen (75), who is married to Zani Suttle’s sister. The couple confirmed their relationship in 2020. They had a long-distance relationship for two years and commuted a lot. She lived with her daughter in Copenhagen, the three-time Davis Cup winner in Switzerland. But: “After a long relationship with distance and a lot of travel, we decided to move to Mallorca together in 2022,” as Steeb now said.

The wedding is scheduled to take place “within the next year.”

According to “Bunte”, a wedding date has not yet been set. The 56-year-old is apparently planning to get married soon: “Definitely within the next year.” In the interview he raves about his fiancée: “Zani is a charming, fun-loving and warm-hearted person, sporty and funny. Very pretty too.” They both have many things in common, such as their love of sports. She, in turn, emphasizes: “He is my best friend and my true love. He is the funniest person I have ever met.”

The former top athlete was previously married for more than 20 years and had two sons. In 2017 he announced that he and his wife Kimberly had separated some time ago. Steeb started his professional career in 1986 and was in 14th place in the ATP world rankings in 1990. From 1999 to 2001 he was captain of the German Davis Cup team, and in 1996 he ended his active tennis career.
