Carnival Row on Prime Video: despite a chaotic production, Orlando Bloom is proud of the end of the series

Almost four years after its season 1, “Carnival Row” returns to Prime Video for a second and final chapter. The star of the series, Orlando Bloom, explains why he knows this ending.

Interrupted by the pandemic in March 2020, filming for Carnival Row season 2 was put on hiatus for over a year. This complicated production inevitably delayed the release of the series, which ends with a season 2.

In an interview with Collider, Orlando Bloom, who plays Philo, talks about the program being halted: “It was never clear that we were going to do a specific number of seasons. I did not sign for any particular number.” For AlloCiné, Cara Delevingne, who plays Vignette, sheds additional light on this decision: “We put so much effort into this second season that we knew it was going to be the last..”

It makes sense to end the story there”, she continues. Same feeling on the side of his partner, Orlando Bloom. “Carnival Row is not based on books, only ideas and thoughts“, he specifies. Erik Oleson (the showrunner, editor’s note) and his team wanted to conclude with an epic and phenomenal finale of which I am very proud.”

He adds : “This type of show can go on and on and then people are going to say, ‘Okay, that was good until season 2 and they got lost.’ I like this idea of bowing out with a bang and doing everything we can to deliver the best version of this program. And it fills me with satisfaction.”

Carnival Row is available on Prime Video.
