Carole Bouquet victim of a bad fall: these after-effects that she has had to endure for 10 years: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

After years away from the theater stage, Carole Bouquet will make her comeback in the play Berenice by Jean Racine, directed by Muriel Mayette-Holtz. Before leaving on tour, the 66-year-old actress answered questions from our colleagues at Gala. The entire interview will be available on newsstands from October 12, 2023. In an extract revealed the day before, Carole Bouquet explains that she has had to live with pain for many years. The cause: a nasty fall on the set of Leave me a placeAlessandra Sublet’s show, in July 2013. “I fell and hurt a nerve”, she confided to our colleagues. Since then, she has felt the negative effects of this unfortunate accident on a daily basis. “I have pain, which, unfortunately, doesn’t leave me. When I’m tired, it’s not great”, she added. Fortunately, she found a cure for “reduce suffering”. But it is not without consequences since the medications she takes have an impact on her memory.

Carole Bouquet must live with the anxiety of the memory gap

So, a few days before returning to the stage, Carole Bouquet is particularly worried about forgetting her text in front of the public. “On stage, I can’t see myself having a memory lapse.” This is his biggest apprehension at the moment. On the other hand, when she is on film sets, she does not have the stress of forgetting her lines. Charlotte Casiraghi’s mother-in-law knows that she will have the right to a second chance, or rather another take. “In cinema, it’s different. No one writes like Bertrand Blier anymore, there are much fewer things to learn”, she further explained. In addition to having to manage her pain, her stress and her memory, Carole Bouquet does not have much respite. Directors always have confidence in her acting talents and do not hesitate to offer her projects. “These days, I feel like I’m in a hustle. I’m in high demand professionally and I must admit that I love it. It’s wonderful”she concluded, happy to still be able to make a living from her passion.
