Carolin Kebekus doesn’t hold back with her opinions on her shows or in private – not even when it comes to the topic of beauty. Especially for promoting unrealistic ones body ideals she now finds clear words.

Beauty is such a thing; it is in the eye of the beholder and yet there are cultural influences and ideals. These are supported, loudly Carolin Kebekus, 43, from the beauty industry, which uses its machinery to suggest “that we are not beautiful and therefore not valuable enough,” as the comedian told the German Press Agency. She has had enough and is settling with the beauty business.

Carolin Kebekus is angry about the beauty industry

Concealers for dark circles under the eyes, anti-aging creams for eye wrinkles – there is now a remedy for every need. But that is exactly the problem for Carolin Kebekus. Society would be bombarded with products that would tell them that they are not good enough as they are. One consequence of this is that more and more women are making an appointment with a cosmetic surgeon in order to more closely match their ideal image. Carolin herself has dealt with her body a lot in the past.

How much time I’ve wasted hating my own body! All of this because a huge industry needs my self-doubt to really make ashes.

This is over now! In her new “Carolin Kebekus Show”, which will be broadcast on Donnersteg, November 30th at 10:50 p.m. on ARD, she takes a humorous look at the beauty industry.

Not the first criticism of beauty ideals and fashion trends

It is not the first time that the 43-year-old has spoken publicly about the topic of beauty. In the past, she has denounced the show “Germany’s Next Top Model” several times in her comedy program, was annoyed about the comeback of low-waisted jeans or coined the sentence “we have to stay fuckable”.

The tone: Women need to free themselves from the external pressure that tells them how they should be, how they should look or how successful they can be.
