After the controversy around Caroline Fourest and Thomas NLend’s book-investigation, the columnist left the newspaper “Marianne” according to information obtained by “Le Monde”. She is accused of having pressured a journalist from the editorial staff not to publish an investigation into the author whose book she prefaced.
Journalist Caroline Fourest, columnist at Marianne, at the heart of a controversy after revelations from the media “Arrêt sur Images”, ceased its collaboration with the newspaper. She is said to have put pressure on the deputy editor not to publish an investigation into the author Thomas NLend, for whom she signed the preface to a book-investigation published on January 12.
At the start of this controversy, a book on the infiltration between 2011 and 2014 of Thomas NLend in the far-right movement of Alain Soral, Equality & Reconciliation. The latter would not have really infiltrated the movement and would indeed have been a real partisan, according to court documents to which the journalists of “Arrêt sur Images” had access. An assertion denied by Caroline Fourest on her blog, who would then have tried to interfere in an investigation of Marianne on this subject by putting pressure on a journalist from the editorial staff, Gabriel Libert.

According to newspaper information The worldthe columnist should therefore soon sign the end of her collaboration with the weekly in which she has been writing since 2016. She herself assures that she wishes to stop with Marianne to focus on the weekly Maverickwhich she helped create last November.
For her part, Natacha Polony, the director of Marianneassured the World that she was not asking Caroline Fourest to leave but that she was suggesting that she “draw the consequences of what she writes on Marianne“.
