Caroline Margeridon reveals why she refused her children to bear the name of their famous father: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

Caroline Margeridon can be proud of her career. The emblematic buyer of the show Case Concluded on France 2 has always wanted to become a second-hand dealer, like her mother who ran a shop in Honfleur in Normandy and on flea markets. "I had decided, at the age of 5, that I would be a merchant, to the dismay of my parents, who wanted me to study" , she confided a few months ago to TV-Leisure. It was at this time that the girl began her career, exhibiting her few finds, objects recovered from the trash cans, at the Chatou fair where she sold them for 1 or 2 francs. Things have since changed a lot for Julien Cohen's sidekick, who is now at the head of a small flea market empire with his store located at the Biron market, at the legendary Puces de Saint-Ouen.

A strong woman

The 54-year-old buyer has managed to lead this career with a masterful hand, while taking care of her two children Alexandre and Victorine, 23 and 22 years old. Their father, the jockey Gérald Mossé, indeed left to live in Hong-Kong when they were only 9 and 18 months old. Caroline Margeridon ensured their education alone, without resentment vis-à-vis her ex-husband : "I protected my children a lot by saying: 'Poor daddy, he lives far away, he cannot see you.' My children were born with a structure, a spine, without the denial or the hatred of the dad who was absent. . I always refused to criticize a father who leaves because the children have nothing to do with it. Very often, adults take children hostage ", she explains in the Parents First podcast of Tele-Leisure.

He was not no question of letting them bear the name of their famous father. "It was obvious to me that my children would be called Margeridon because I am proud of this name. I am Basque and claim it", she explained. The enthusiast of antiques was above all anxious to pass on this family name that her grandfather, who had set up a company in which he employed 4000 people, had shone for many years.Gérald Mossé therefore did not have a say: "For me, it was not even thinkable that my children did not bear my name!"
