A long sketch on the history of feminism
For the second, Caroline Vigneaux tackles feminism. with sketches that intend to break taboos: rules, pleasure and female masturbation… And above all, we find in this show a long first sketch, lasting 45 minutes, which is a kind of history of feminism. The comedian manages to come back with humor on several dates. It all starts with Adam and Eve, then it’s about the great advances: women’s right to vote, the arrival in the big schools, divorce or even the recognition of marital rape / The comedian approaches all these subjects in a very funny, as with this extract on the civil code: “My favorite is article 213. The man owes protection to the woman. The woman owes obedience to her husband. It is written in the French civil code. Yes, France was a Taliban state. That means that to be a free woman, you had to be a widow.”
We recognize the lawyer paw of Caroline Vigneaux. This long sketch also looks like a plea for women. With not so much the objective to convince but rather to make people laugh.
“You reach people more easily with laughter”
“When I said I was going to do a sketch on the history of feminism, people looked at me with wide eyes. They said to themselves: ‘It’s going to be boring’. And it’s true that even said That sounds a little off-putting. But as soon as there was a date, there was a joke. There isn’t a single date where there isn’t a joke. It was really super important because laughter is like a wagon in which you can put something and you can reach people much more easily through laughter. We also show the absurdity of a situation”, explains Caroline Vigneaux on Europe 1.
