Fashion missteps are rare for Caroline von Hannover. Her style exudes luxury, elegance and class, following some simple but effective styling principles. As the daughter of Grace Kelly, †.52, and known as a style icon herself, she shows us how to turn classic looks into real eye-catchers.

Caroline von Hannover: These fashion rules define her style

1.More is more

Caroline von Hannover also relies on the principle “Sometimes more is more!” When it comes to accessories, she prefers classic pieces like pearl earrings or the timeless “Mary Jane” shoes from Chanel. However, when it comes to chains, the motto is “more is more”. She combines a wild mix of different chains, including long link chains in gold and precious pearls. She not only experiments with different materials, but also with different lengths. The proportions have to be right because this is the only way the outfit retains its excitement and unexpectedness.

2. Feminine vs. tomboyish

Caroline von Hannover’s style impresses with its skilful fusion of feminine elegance and boyish coolness. Contrary to expectations, she not only relies on feminine silhouettes, but also integrates masculine elements into her outfits. An example is a look from Chanel in which she combines a noble blouse and a bouclé jacket with wider-cut trousers. Compliance with the rule of a matching two-piece suit is maintained. By choosing rough suede ankle boots and a Chanel bag with silver hardware, she deliberately adds a certain coolness to the elegant look.

3. Order is a must

One of the fundamental rules of Caroline’s style is the importance of order. Unlike unusual “mix and match” creations, the 67-year-old often opts for perfectly coordinated ensembles on formal occasions. This fashion statement not only looks chic and well thought out, but is also time-saving. Although she often chooses timeless white or elegant black for her two-piece suits, she also appears in bold colors such as bright pink, like on the national day in Monaco in November 2023.
