At the beginning of December 2022, the French government launched a new carpooling plan. The goal ? Develop daily carpooling to hope to reach 3 million daily trips by 2027. To do this, bonuses will be paid to drivers who start carpooling via specialized platforms. We explain how to get a bonus of 200 euros.
Since January 1, 2023, the government’s new Daily Carpooling Plan has come into force, alongside the latest ecological bonus scales. Note that this measure, presented on December 13, 2022, provides for an envelope of 150 million euros in total to develop carpooling. This amount will be distributed as follows:
- 50 million euros for communities on the principle of “1 € from the State for 1 € from the community”
- 50 million euros from the Green Fund to help local authorities develop their carpooling infrastructure
- And a bonus of €100 for new drivers to encourage them to carpool
Thanks to this aid, the government is laying the first stones to achieve the three million journeys per day by 2027, compared to 900,000 currently. Regarding this bonus, it is possible to obtain it since January 1, 2023. We explain everything to you in detail.

How to get carpooling bonuses for first-time drivers
Since January 1, 2023, drivers who decide to start carpooling will be able to obtain a bonus of €100, provided they go through a dedicated partner platform. For the moment, the following companies provide this assistance:
- BlaBlaCar and BlaBlaCar Daily
- Co-opgo
- ecov
- The green wheel
- Mobicoop
- Karos
- Klaxit
- Instant
As the government points out, this bonus will be paid by the platforms on which the journeys were made, and this in a progressive manner:
- a first payment of €25 made no later than 3 months after the first carpooling trip
- a second payment of €75 made no later than 3 months after the completion of the 10th trip
Note that this bonus will be paid in the form of a transfer or vouchers for everyday consumer products.
BlaBlaCar allows you to obtain a bonus of 200 €
If you choose to go through the market reference, namely BlaBlaCar, you can double your bonus of €100. Indeed, in addition to offering the famous bonus for long-distance journeys (more than 80 km) made in 3 months, the platform is also offering a €100 boost on BlaBlarCar Dailyits service dedicated to short journeys.
In this specific case, drivers will first receive €25 for the 1st journey, then €75 once the 10 journeys have been completed, always within 3 months. To give you an idea, this is equivalent to a week of commuting.
