Carrefour deploys a service dedicated to electromobility, powered by 100% green energy

After announcing the gradual installation of 2,000 charging points by 2023 for all of its hypermarkets, Carrefour is accelerating and extending its deployment program to all of its Carrefour Market supermarkets, starting in the second half of the year. 2022. At least 3,000 additional charging points, powered by 100% green energy, will be available by 2025, thus offering the first electric charging network in France with more than 700 stations and 5,000 equipped spaces, half of which are powered by high power by ENEDIS.

The first Carrefour Énergies charging station will be accessible to customers in the parking lot of the Troyes – La Chapelle Saint-Luc hypermarket, from April 8, 2022. On average, each hypermarket will have 10 electrified spaces and each supermarket 5 squares. The service will notably be accessible via the Carrefour Énergies mobile application.

Charging stations accessible to all

Carrefour is the first brand in France to offer a complete offer for electromobility, ranging from 22 kW to 300 kW, to meet the different needs of users:
– a so-called “comfort” charging service, at 22 kW, free for the first hour for customers with a loyalty card or the PASS Carrefour card. In 1 hour, customers with a city vehicle can recharge approximately 50% of the battery free of charge;
– a fast to ultra-fast charging service ranging from 50 kW to 300 kW. These terminals make it possible to carry out a “full electric” between 20 and 60 min according to the vehicles;
– a free service dedicated to recharging for soft mobility such as bicycles and electric scooters.

Carrefour joins forces with two benchmark partners to build and operate charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in its stores:
-ALLEGO for stations adjoining hypermarkets
-DRIVECO for stations adjacent to Carrefour Market supermarkets.

“With Carrefour Énergies, our customers will be guaranteed to find a station providing a high-quality charging service for all electric vehicles, including soft mobility. The ambitious roll-out at Carrefour Market supermarkets complements the equipment currently underway at our hypermarkets and testifies to Carrefour’s commitment to the energy transition, serving our customers and regions,” said Jérôme Nanty, Executive Director of Human Resources and Group Assets and France.
