(Boursier.com) — Crossroads received the communication of the intervention of the Ministry of the Economy in a dispute initiated by the Association of Carrefour Franchisees which was made public.
Carrefour vigorously contests the complaints of the Ministry of the Economy relating to the management of its franchise network as well as the totally disproportionate nature of the fine which can only be decided by the court seized.
The Ministry intervenes in a dispute launched several months ago without providing any new elements on the merits.
The Group has complete confidence in its ability to demonstrate the perfect validity of its contracts as well as the balance of its relationship with its partners. The amount of the fine obviously appears to have no basis in view of the impact of the contractual clauses which are under discussion.
A minority of franchisees who disagree with Carrefour have challenged in vain the attractiveness and growth of the model that the Group has built with its partners during several disputes brought before different courts.
Each year, this system allows entrepreneurs to open 250 stores with nearby Carrefour and attracts more than 6,000 franchise candidates.
Carrefour will continue to confidently defend this model for the benefit of its entire network and the thousands of employees who work there…
Carrefour shares are currently falling 8% to 13.39 euros this Tuesday on the Paris Stock Exchange.
