Carried in particular by Elden Ring, Bandai Namco raises its objectives

With a turnover of 3.2 billion euros, an operating profit of 1.1 billion euros and a net profit of 456 million euros, Bandai Namco is well ahead of its results for the year last at the same stage. These impressive figures, however, represent many activities outside video games, particularly in connection with toys and derivative products, which are responsible for a large part of the wealth of Bandai Namco in Japan.

When we zoom in on the video game activity of Bandai Namco, the turnover reached 1.3 billion euros for an operating profit of 306 million euros. Unsurprisingly given the extraordinary success of Elden Ring (more than 16 million copies distributed worldwide), these results are up sharply compared to last year (1 billion euros in turnover for 178 million euros in operating profit).

Besides FromSoftware’s game, Bandai Namco has released titles like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R, Digimon Survive, and Gundam Evolution. The first two named even managed to find a place in the monthly rankings in the United States. Rankings still dominated by Elden Ring pending the big releases at the end of the year.

In view of these better-than-expected results, Bandai Namco has raised its forecast for the fiscal year and now expects sales of 6.4 billion euros, operating profit of 876 million euros and net profit of 650 million euros, i.e. another very high level financial year and very close to last year’s record.
