A 10-year-old child was washed away from Scarborough in England. The latter survived thanks to a documentary he recalled. He was found safe and sound by rescue teams an hour later.

On Friday July 31, a 10-year-old British boy was reported missing near Scarborough, a coastal town in northern England. He survived until help arrived by following the instructions in a documentary he had watched.

A proof of courage and coolness in the face of the dangers of the sea

Following the heat peak on the weekend of July 31 in the United Kingdom, many swimmers on the beaches. As a result, the coast guard relayed more than 300 incidents at sea. Among these, a child was washed away by the sea.

Recalling the documentary "Saving Lives at Sea" or "Saving Lives at Sea", the young boy followed the precious advice of not panicking and surfing when carried away by the waves.
Without succumbing to panic, he therefore followed the advice given: lie on his back, spread his arms and legs to float while calling for help. An hour later he was in the same position. Help arrived and took him to hospital for a preventive check-up.

“We are very impressed with this amazing boy, who has managed to stay calm and follow safety advice to the letter under terrifying and stressful circumstances. Without that, the consequences could have been quite different, ”said one of the workers at the aid station.

A reminder to caution

The number of drownings continues to increase during the summer period. This is why it is important to remain vigilant and take all the necessary precautions.

When being swept out in the sea, it is advisable to fight off your urge to swim and avoid struggling, as the chances of getting tired and drowning are great. Like the young boy, you have to let yourself float on your back while relaxing in order to regain control of your breathing.
