Cars Are Attractive – Driving these cars doubles Tinder matches!

What does it depend on which side you are pushed to on Tinder? Sure, appearance, charisma, smile – but it also makes a difference which car is shown in the photos. A study conducted in the UK identified the most successful makes – and they’re not just expensive vehicles!

To what extent the results are applicable to Austria is of course not certain, but it is interesting to see that neither men nor women are exclusively into cars that suggest a certain income. Both genders voted the VW Polo in the top 5!

Whereby “choosing” was not a conscious decision in favor of a car in this case. “Click4reg” created identical Tinder profiles and only exchanged the cars on the profile photos. Then the decoys were sent online for two days and the matches were counted.

First of all, it is good to know that men are generally more successful on Tinder when they are in front of a car by the photo. Autoless men averaged 59 matches within two days, men with a car an average of 132. For women, the difference is small (78 to 82 matches).

Mercedes and Range Rover at the top
The Mercedes-C-Class, which brought 218 of 300 possible matches and thus a success rate of 72.6 percent, was in the favor of women. The Range Rover Sport ranks second (literally), the 3-series BMW completes the podium. Fourth place belongs to the Audi A3. And a small car even made it to fifth place: the VW Polo.

The Polo seems to be an even better match for women, for men it was the third most attractive car in the photos of women. The men on Tinder apparently think the coolest thing is women in the Range Rover – very stylish! The ladies in the Audi A3 appear almost as attractive. Men also like the C-Class, the Mercedes is in 4th place. 5th place belongs to a clichéd women’s car: the Fiat 500.

By the way, the least successful car among those tested was the Toyota Yaris.

The whole thing is of course not representative, only 15 cars were used in total. Here is the full list of the cross-gender success rate:
