Carsten Maschmeyer: After cancer surgery back at "The Lion's Den"

Carsten Maschmeyer (60) spoke up on the set of the TV show "Die Höhle der Löwen". In an Instagram story, he explained: "Everything is very different than usual. Minimal cast, nobody greets someone with a handshake or hugs. We lions keep a distance, are several meters away from the founders." In addition, door handles are constantly being disinfected, "many wear breathing masks," says the entrepreneur.

He also talked about his cancer. On Instagram he writes about a picture of himself: "As you know, after a skin cancer diagnosis 6 weeks ago, a part of my nose was removed. In total, there were 3 operations for tumor removal and a reconstruction surgery. The healing went well and the swelling is almost gone, a scar remains. For the shoot on the set, this is covered with make-up. Fortunately for my investor nose, the sense is more important than the look.

"That sharpens the view of the really important things in life"

"But these days it is not about that," he continues in his post: "Rather, I think of everyone who suffers particularly from the Corona virus – whether directly or indirectly. With all the problems that arise from it, for the health of many people, but also for the economy and our everyday life. That sharpens the view of the really important things in life: health and family. "

In his contribution, Maschmeyer thanks everyone "who works in medical practices, hospitals and pharmacies and cares for our health" and all those "who ensure our food supply these days. They are all real heroes".
