“Den of the Lions” investor Carsten Maschmeyer unpacks the claws. For him, the federal government’s corona policy is an “indictment of poverty”.

As an entrepreneur and investor, Carsten Maschmeyer (61) has deep insights into how the corona pandemic and the associated lockdown are increasingly paralyzing the German economy. In conversation with “t-online” he draws a sobering conclusion about the previous measures of the federal government and calls for an end to the “economic lockdown”.

He ensures that “tens of thousands of companies” and entrepreneurs have to watch “as their life’s work is being further destroyed every day.” For a “- supposedly – perfectly organized state” like Germany, it is “a sign of poverty” how slowly corona aid is being paid out or vaccinated. “Concrete measures and perspectives” are now necessary to “revive the economy”. In his opinion, the federal government should work more closely with pharmaceutical companies and the military – he cites the USA as a role model, where this is the case.

Since March 22nd, Maschmeyer has been back as an investor in the VOX program “Die Höhle der Löwen” (8:15 pm). In the ninth season of the founding show, which was created under strict hygiene requirements, he and his colleagues had to pay attention to a few things. “Unfortunately, the handshake after the deals was canceled. We Lions had to be tested every day and wear a mask between pitches.” At the same time, many of the pitches would show how flexibly the founders have adjusted to the new circumstances in the pandemic.
