Casa Casi 40: Atari, C64 and Co – a little tech journey through time

When and how did Fabi, Palle and Casi actually come into contact with tech for the first time? In the NextPit podcast “Casa Casi” we look back to the eighties and talk about old Atari consoles, the C64 & Amiga from Commodore, the first LAN parties and a lot more.

In what is now the 40th episode of our podcast, we actually wanted to talk about sustainability. But then Fabi lay flat for a few days and so did I after my booster vaccination. So we started the recording a bit shaky, but couldn’t prepare nearly as much as we like to do. So we quickly inserted a small special episode and talked about which gadgets we used to get into the tech game back then.

So today’s episode is about the technology that we came into contact with from the 1980s onwards. We actually wanted to go much further, but in the end we mainly talked about the old consoles and computers – and of course about the games that we played on the boxes.

Even today, I don’t want to reveal too much in the text about what we discuss in the podcast. But of course we attach the Atari Video Computer System, better known as the Atari 2600, to the front. We talk about games, touch on other consoles from the last millennium and wallow in C64 and Amiga memories. Were you already actively involved back then, or just want to listen to the three ladies from the Tech-Grill chatting about the old days, then this episode will serve you well, I promise!
