Big excitement! The first Apple event of the year has taken place. So let’s get started with a special episode of the NextPit podcast: The Casa Casi Espresso! We talk about the event itself, about the new iPhone – and everything else that was exciting today.
These Apple events are really fascinating if you ask me. It feels like half the internet is looking towards Cupertino at 7 p.m. sharp and a few minutes later the report says it’s complete. Then it rains screenshots of order confirmations, often combined with “I couldn’t help it” confessions.
No other company manages to get the crowd of fans to rush into freshly presented hardware so vehemently. That’s why we’ve also considered just going on the air today out of turn. Fabi, Palle and I watched the event together and summarized the fun for you in our first “Casa Casi Espresso” (espresso because the episode is shorter than usual and we don’t have time for a full menu! Funny, right? ).
Please three espressos and a new iPhone SE, per favore!
You can find out in our podcast whether the most exciting part of our order is the iPhone SE 2022 or the espresso. The part didn’t really blow my mind, but the company is less concerned with that, especially with this model. You get Apple’s cheapest 5G smartphone for a very competitive price of 519 euros.
Our jaws dropped when Apple presented the Mi Ultra. Its new chip, which should make the assembled competition look really old in terms of performance. Of course, we also saw the right hardware for this with the Apple Mac Studio. The entry-level model costs a little more than 2,200 euros, but then “only” comes with the M1 Max. If you want the version with the indecently high-performance M1 Ultra, then even the smallest version leaves more than 4,000 euros on the house table.
Apple did a lot right with the event and the alignment of the portfolio today. In any case, the three of us didn’t regret that we recorded a special episode without further ado. Of course, we didn’t do much research, but just stared at the stream like you and then just shot from the hip.
