On Twitter, fans around the world are already protesting against the weak dubbing of Chris Pratt who then plays the mustachioed plumber. Anglophones even find that the French voice is much more effective and it is not surprising when you know that it is Pierre Tessier who doubles Mario. Notably renowned for his legendary dubbing of the actor Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Detective Pikachu), his voice suits Nintendo’s hero much better. Seeing the terrible Bowser at the start of the trailer, we necessarily expected guttural cries out of the depths of hell, but neither in English (Jack Black) nor in French, Mario’s main antagonist will have no cavernous voice. And it is not necessarily to displease. With a more calm tone, the villain of the story is nonetheless frightening and threatening thanks to the voice of Christophe Lemoine. Moreover, if you are a fan of dubbing, he created a show called “Stream VF” where he hosts almost every week comedians who have already dubbed iconic characters like Batman, Obi Wan Kenobi and more.
Frédéric Souterelle is King Penguin

Already voted best character in the film, King Penguin imposes despite his small size in front of the giant Bowser. To emphasize this difference, he then has a deep voice interpreted by Frédéric Souterelle in French (Khonshu in Moon Knight for example but especially Kratos in the game God of War or even chopper in Overwatch).
Emmanuel Garijo is Toad

Emmanuel Garijo is extremely well known for his dubbing ofAnakin Skywalker (episodes 2 and 3, animated series), of Kirk in the Star Trek films, but also for his ability to modify his voice to interpret cartoon characters like Alvin (in Alvin and the Chipmunks), Hercules or even Stitch !
Be careful however, as was already the case for the animated film Buzz Lightyear recently, it may well be that the VF cast of the Mario movie changes between its trailer and the final result. Hoping that this is not the case of course and that other talented actors are on display like Dorothée Pousséo for example on Peach. We also don’t know who will be behind Luigi’s voice!
