Cate Blanchett: She steals the show with this extravagant dress

Jury President Cate Blanchett appeared in an unusual robe for an evening event during the Venice Film Festival.

The Australian Oscar winner and this year's jury president of the Venice Film Festival, Cate Blanchett (51, "Blue Jasmine"), was at the premiere of the film "Di Yi Lu Xiang" ("Love After Love") by director Ann Hui (73) on Tuesday evening (September 8th) the eye-catcher on the red carpet.

Special evening dress-blazer combination

The actress wore an asymmetrically cut Alexander McQueen robe that combined a cream evening dress with a black blazer. Special details were a striking ruffle sleeve on one side and a blazer sleeve on the other. The tulle on the sleeve was also found around the waist, in a kind of tutu. The bustier and the skirt were also adorned with striking gold embroidery. The artist chose simple black pumps for the unusual dress.

The Venice International Film Festival will take place at the Lido from September 2 to 12, 2020. Due to the corona pandemic, this year there is a compressed program, a lower number of visitors and numerous restrictions and regulations.
