Caterpillar: 8% increase in quarterly dividend

(CercleFinance.com) – Caterpillar announced on Wednesday that it would increase its quarterly dividend by 8% to $1.30 per share.

In a press release, the American giant of construction machinery specifies that this coupon will be paid to its shareholders on August 18 for a registration date set for July 20.

Jim Umpleby, the CEO of the group now based in Irving (Texas), explains the increase in the dividend by the very comfortable cash flow generated by its activities in machinery, energy and transport (ME&T).

In its press release, Caterpillar recalls that it has offered a quarterly dividend to its shareholders since 1933 and that its annual dividend has steadily increased over the past 29 years.

Just over an hour after opening, the stock was broadly flat, as the Dow Jones index fell about 0.4%.
