Met for the promotion of the film Liar with Tarek Boudali, directed by Olivier Baroux, the actor and humorist Artus confirmed to us to be part of the cast of La Tortue, film dedicated to the couple formed by Jacques and Bernadette Chirac.
Artus will precisely play the role of former judoka David Douillet, who rubbed shoulders with Bernardette Chirac a lot as part of Operation Yellow Pieces, a solidarity campaign created in 1989 for which the latter two worked a lot.

“The info is out so I’m not going to spoil anything. It’s a biopic on Bernadette Chirache told our microphone. But I don’t play Jacques Chirac, I play David Douillet at the time of the yellow plays and all that. I had a few days of shooting; it’s cool, the cast is beautiful and everything so it made me happy to be in this very beautiful film“, he added.
The synopsis of the film is carefully kept secret. We simply know that La Tortue will have Bernadette and Jacques Chirac as characters, with Catherine Deneuve and Michel Vuillermoz in these roles. It would not be an official film or authorized biopic because the Chirac family would not seem to be in favor of this project. As we recently reported, via Paris Match, Claude Chirac would have tackled the initiative by launching: “They may not know that Bernadette is still alive…”
La Tortue is co-written by Léa Domenach (co-screenwriter of the Jeune et Golri series) and Clémence Dargent (co-screenwriter of the OVNI(s) series). Léa Domenach, daughter of the famous journalist and political columnist Nicolas Domenach, is directing this film, as yet without a release date.
