Her fans will have to wait a little longer for public appearances by Catherine, Princess of Wales – but that doesn’t mean she’s just twiddling her thumbs. Quite the opposite: Kensington Palace now confirms an important project for which Kate has resumed work.

Although Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42, has to recover from her abdominal operation, the wife of Prince William, 41, cannot be dissuaded from certain tasks. According to insider reports, Kate not only doesn’t accept any support in the household, she also returns to her work as a senior royal around two months after her procedure – albeit more behind the scenes. Kensington Palace confirmed this to the “Express” on March 21, 2024.

Catherine, Princess of Wales: Palace confirms her work on project

Kate’s duties as a senior royal include public appearances and work on patronages, charitable projects and personal causes close to her heart. At least the Princess of Wales could do the latter from her home office and not have to go out in public to do it. A statement from Kensington Palace suggests that Kate is diligently doing just that. On behalf of the “Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales”, the mother of three is primarily committed to shaping early childhood. The Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood focuses its work on the first and very formative years of every person’s life.

According to the “Express”, “Early Childhood” has now helped finance a baby monitoring tool. The device is currently being tested and will be used by health advisors in the future to better monitor the social and emotional development of small children and to recognize the first signs early. Catherine, Princess of Wales, visited Denmark in February 2022 to observe a similar system there. Kate then invested in a four-month trial in the UK with her Early Childhood project.

On March 21, the Center for Early Childhood reported on its website about the “overwhelmingly positive” results achieved with the study. In addition, the “Express” quotes a palace spokesman: “The Princess was kept informed throughout the entire process.”

Small milestone for Kate’s recovery

Although the court’s statement could hardly be more sober, according to the “Express” it represents a first: it is the first communication to be published about Catherine’s projects and her work since she underwent abdominal surgery in mid-January. After the scheduled procedure, Kate’s team postponed numerous appointments that had been scheduled for the weeks and months that followed.
