Cathy Hummels’ Advent wreath “almost burned the house down”. This is how the fire shock came about.

Four large pink candles on golden candlesticks on a wreath of natural-colored artificial flowers with pink elements – this is what the Advent wreath by influencer Cathy Hummels (33) looked like, as she shows on Instagrame. But what began as a beautiful decoration almost caused a real fire drama in her house.

“I just almost burned the house down … no joke! The classic with the Advent wreath,” Hummels wrote a little later in one of the next stories. How it came about, she says: “I lit the Advent wreath again and there was such a little flame […] That was a millisecond. “

A blanket prevented worse

The Advent wreath has burned down completely, as its followers do also shows. You can also see the blanket with which the fire could be extinguished. “We stopped the fire with a blanket. At first I didn’t even know what to do. I was in shock,” continued Hummels.

Warning of artificial flower arrangements

After the experience, Cathy Hummels has one more piece of advice for her Insta community: “Please be careful,” it says and continues: “If you have an Advent wreath made of artificial flowers: only LED lights.” The wife (since 2015) of soccer star Mats Hummels (32) and mother of a son (born in 2018) will apparently do the same thing in the future: “I will no longer put real candles in the wreath. Thank God everything went well.”
