Cathy Hummels has moved – she bought a home for herself and her son Ludwig in the Schwabing district of Munich. GALA shows insights into Cathy’s stylish four walls.

This time the colors cream and beige dominate in a wide variety of textures and fabrics. Nico Tijsen, Creative Director at Rivièra Maison, helped Cathy design the living and dining area. Her goal was to create a cozy oasis where Cathy and her son Ludwig could feel at home, she affectionately calls it “Cathy’s Casa”. Cathy reveals: “I live very comfortably, very stylish but also very Cathy-like! I like it clean, but I also like colorful highlights. I love wallpaper and carpets. Well, you can see it here, I already have a great love for details.”

Even if the tones are muted, the carpet is of course an absolute highlight and brings variety and texture to the spacious, bright living area. Apropos: The large windows are perfectly staged by the eye-catching lamps. “The most important thing to me in my new home is that everything fits together, that it matches. But also that you come in here and see: That’s my personality. It shouldn’t be interchangeable, it should be mine and that’s how it is now .”

What should not be missing and gives the rooms warmth and life: plants, whether palm trees or opulent bouquets of dried flowers. Through the combination of very different natural tones, Cathy’s rooms don’t look boring and bland at all, but elegant and stylish – and the combination is easy, even for interior newcomers. By the way, Cathy’s favorite place is the couch – but not only Cathy likes it. “Honestly, Ludwig thinks this is great too! But, we love this round couch, that means we have a little problem there, I like to lie in the curve and so does Ludwig! And recently he was lying here behind me and almost pushed me off the couch! Then I said, ‘You, Ludwig, that’s my place’ and he replied, ‘No, Mama, that’s our home, that’s my place too!’ So yes, we have a bit of a couch problem here, let’s see, maybe I have to put a round couch in Ludwig’s room again.”
