Cathy Hummels: Your door is open to refugee children
Cathy Hummels, 34, wants to lead by example and take care of orphans from Ukraine. “If you have enough space, then that goes without saying,” she says. The wife of soccer star Mats Hummels, 33, is not the first to comment on the situation in Ukraine.
The welfare of the children is a matter close to the heart of the lion mother. “I stood up for those who can’t do anything about this war and don’t even have parents to protect them,” she writes on Instagram. She wants to be a role model. Because she cannot point the finger at others and expect them to take in refugees without doing it themselves. Will she really take refugee children with her son Ludwig, 4, into her care? Cathy Hummels promises: “I’ll keep you posted.”
