Cat’s Eyes on TF1: stars of Here it all begins and Balthazar in the cast of the series

After several months of suspense, TF1 has just revealed the names of the three actresses who will play the main roles in “Cat’s eyes”, its new series adapted from the cult Japanese manga and cartoon of the 80s.

Last April, TF1 announced that the manga and a cult cartoon from the 80s Signed Cat’s Eyes would be entitled to a new live action version.

Adapted from a manga by Tsukasa Hôjô, the animated series followed three sisters, Sylia, Tam and Alex, restorers who, at nightfall, turned into thieves to recover works of art from the collection of their missing father. in strange circumstances.

They had on their heels Inspector Quentin Chapuis, who was none other than Tam’s boyfriend. Almost 40 years after the end of the series, Cat’s Eyes is therefore preparing to sign its big comeback on the small screen.

An ambitious project

Produced by Big Band Story (Benjamin Dupont-Jubien and Mehdi Sabbar), the series is produced in partnership with Prime Video, as was the case for Les Combattantes and Le Bazar de la Charité, which had been posted on Netflix.

The series will thus be offered in first broadcast on TF1 before being offered a few months later on the streaming platform. This will allow Cat’s Eyes to travel internationally.

I always thought that we could find a modus vivendi with international platforms“, thus entrusted Ara Aprikian, the deputy Director general of the contents of the group, to our colleagues of West France.

We have discussions with most of them to help them benefit from TF1’s know-how in the ability to produce content with high added value for the French public. In exchange, they offer us global exposure. It is up to us to find natural ways of cooperating with them.”

Written by Michel Catz, Justine Kim-Gautier, Antonin Martin-Hilbert, Anne-Charlotte Kassab, Coline Dussaud and Audrey Gagneux, the 8 episodes of 52 minutes, which will be directed by Alexandre Laurent (Les Combattantes, Le Bazar de la Charité), are a real financial gamble for headlines, as explained by the Deputy Director General.

It will undoubtedly be one of the most expensive series that we will produce next year with extremely large production budgets. But it is to be able to do justice to this franchise which is very prestigious.”

This new version of Cat’s Eyes will be set in the year 2023 and will follow Alexia, Tam and Sylia, three sisters who reunite after years of separation. At the same time, a work that belonged to their father who had disappeared ten years earlier in the mysterious fire of his art gallery reappeared during a prestigious exhibition at the Eiffel Tower.

They then decide to take all the risks to recover it in the hope of understanding what happened. However, the trio will very quickly find themselves in the crosshairs of Quentin Chapuis, captain of the BRB, responsible for arresting these new thieves who keep escaping him. But he does not know that among them hides his lifelong love, Tam…

TF1 stars in the cast

If until now TF1 had not yet communicated on the casting of this new series, Ara Aprikian finally revealed during this interview the names of the three actresses who will hold the top of the bill.

Alexia will be played by Camille Lou, a regular on TF1 since the actress was recently in the casting for season 3 of I promise you, Prometheus and Fighters. At his side, we can find Constance Labbé, who gave the reply to Tomer Sisley in the last two seasons of Balthazar.

Finally, Claire Romain, alias Amber in Here it all begins, should probably slip into the shoes of the youngest of the siblings. For the moment, the name of the actor who will camp Quentin Chapuis has not yet been revealed by the chain. The filming of Cat’s Eyes should begin very soon for release in 2024.
