The advisor to the Ukrainian interior minister pointed out on Twitter that this was the second sudden and so far unexplained death of an official from the apparatus of ruler Alexander Lukashenko within a year. In November 2022, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makey died of unknown causes.
