On average, we Germans eat around four to five eggs a week. For many, they are a permanent fixture. A good reason why we are now taking this recall very seriously: It is about free-range eggs that have been sold in several supermarkets in northern Germany and should no longer be eaten. As part of a quality control that was carried out, the suspicion of salmonella arose – which can cause adverse health effects.

Free range eggs from Danaeg are being recalled!

The following eggs are specifically affected by the recall:

All three varieties were sold in many shops in northern Germany. It is still unclear with which dealers exactly. According to its own statements, the company reacted immediately, apologized and had the eggs concerned withdrawn from sale. Customers who have bought the goods in question are asked by Danaeg to return them to the store. There, customers should have the product replaced – of course without presenting the receipt. However, other articles or best-before dates should expressly not be affected.

Please do not consume any more

We strongly advise against eating the affected eggs. They should therefore no longer be processed and eaten, because the free-range eggs could contain salmonella, which can cause diarrhea, abdominal pain and vomiting as well as the most serious illnesses in the elderly and immunocompromised people, which under certain circumstances could also be life-threatening.
