Contaminated and mislabelled: You shouldn’t eat this sausage

Two companies are currently recalling sausage products because they can be hazardous to the health of consumers. Listeria contamination was detected in one product, while another contained unspecified ingredients.
The “Heinrich Aldag Altländer Fleisch- und Wurstwaren GmbH” is recalling the turkey onion mettwurst. This product presents a risk of Listeria contamination. Affected items have the best before date August 10, 2022 and the lot number 210722.
Beware of Listeria contamination
Consumers who have purchased this product should definitely refrain from consuming it. According to productwarning.eu, the company itself has not given any information about a possible return of the goods. It is therefore recommended that the product be returned to the retailer or discarded.
Listeria are bacteria and can cause nausea, vomiting or diarrhea if eaten. It is also possible that symptoms similar to a flu only appear after a longer incubation period (sometimes three weeks) after consumption of the contaminated goods. Pregnant women, small children and those with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk. If you experience the above symptoms, you should consult a doctor.

Attention allergy sufferers! An important label is missing here
On the other hand, “Bleyer & Wichert GmbH – Die Wurstmanufaktur” is also recalling sausage products, these are the small grilled sausages in the 350 gram pack with the best before dates August 12th to September 25th, 2022 and lot number 561.
This sausage contains mustard, which was not specified on the packaging. Allergy sufferers in particular should therefore not consume the product. Here, too, there is no information from the manufacturer on returns, so it is also recommended that this product be returned to retailers or disposed of. Anyone who is not allergic to mustard can consume the sausages without hesitation.
