Last month, Capcom threw Dragon’s Dogma 2but several elements of theAction RPG have caused a lot of ink to flow. Players did not fail to strongly criticize the presence of microtransactions to facilitate the gaming experience, although it is a solo title. A common practice for the Japanese studio Capcom.

Piotr Nielubowicz, CFO of CD Projectspoke a few days ago with StockWatch.pl to discuss many topics, including microtransactions. The Japanese studio’s policy is clear: microtransactions in single-player games are a no-no. The administrative and financial director declares:

We do not see a place for microtransactions in the case of single-player games, but we do not exclude that we use this solution in the future in the case of multiplayer projects.

CD Project as a reminder, is developing several games, including a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077a remake of The Witcher and a new trilogy with Witchers, which should not include microtransactions. However, the spin off of The Witcher by The Molasses Flood will include multiplayer elements and therefore could include microtransactions.
