CD Projekt Red: Sales of studio games suspended in Russia and Belarus

Since the beginning of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, many development studios or publishers have been trying to support Ukraine. Recently, 11 bit Studios, behind This War of Mine, raised funds to help the Ukrainian population. Similarly, Acid Wizard Studio and Crunching Koalas are also trying to raise funds, the final sum of which will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross. Separately, EA recently announced the removal of Russian national teams and clubs from their FIFA and NHL games. This time it was CD Projekt Red who announced their support for the Ukrainians.

A few hours ago, the developers behind The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077 formalized their support for Ukraine. Via a press release posted on their official Twitter account, they announced that sales of their games are suspended in Russia and Belarus. To that, they add the suspension of digital sales on their GOG platform.

It’s a safe bet that several other development studios and publishers will join this movement of support for Ukraine in the coming days or weeks.
