A few weeks ago, and as we all suspected, CD Projekt RED announced the development of a new The Witcher saga. It will therefore not be The Witcher 4, but a whole new story taking place in the franchise, which obviously delighted fans of the universe, which has experienced renewed interest with the Netflix series. If its release is not scheduled for immediately (not before 2023, or even 2024), the Polish studio will launch the development, or at least the production, of other projects this year.
On the occasion of the company’s latest financial report, we were treated to the major objectives of CD Projekt RED for this year 2022. In addition to the work on Cyberpunk 2077 (and its extension), the development of the new The Witcher, of the next-gen version for 3 and content for GWENT, in particular, new projects will be launched. Of course, we have no details, but it is specified that conceptual work, among others, will begin for unannounced projectswhich will probably appear in several years.
We won’t know more about these projects until next year, except for The Witcher, which could show itself by the end of the year, although the Polish studio no longer wishes to communicate extensively about its games, before they are ready, to avoid making a “Cyberpunk”.
In the meantime, we remind you that the extension for Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled for 2023, when the title has just crossed the bar of 18 million copies sold.
