CDL: OpTic defeats FaZe, the new favorites of the season?

On the sidelines of qualifying for the Call of Duty League Major II, OpTic Texas swept defending champion Atlanta FaZe 3-0. Leader of the rankings, is OpTic becoming the number 1 favorite for the 2022 season?

There was no photo in this third meeting of the season between OpTic and FaZe. The Texans floored all four FaZe Clan players 3-0 and remain the league leader.

Admittedly, the Atlanta roster was not complete with the absence of Simp due to illness who was replaced by Prestinni, the brother of Arcitys, but the Greenwall team did not ask themselves any more questions.

OpTic sweeps FaZe in Call of Duty League

From the first round in Strategic Point on Gavutu, OpTic showed its superiority by inflicting a 250-174 defeat on FaZe with a Scump and iLLeY duo at the top.

On the second Tuscan map in R&D, OpTic did not flinch in the eleventh round to lead 2-0 in the game.

The score increased further to end in a clear sweep after OpTic’s last victory in Control with a Dashy in 23/14 or Scump with 29 kills, the highest total of the game.

3 games against FaZe, 3 wins for OpTic in the Call of Duty League

OpTic versus FaZe, FaZe versus OpTic, this is one of the most important rivalries in the history of the CoD esports scene.

Since the introduction of the CDL with the franchises, the two teams have fought fierce battles even if on Black Ops Cold War, the advantage quickly turned to the side of the FaZe Clan. However, on Vanguard, OpTic Gaming is now in full confidence.

The team led by the legend Scump has again won its duel against its most historic enemy on the license, for the third consecutive time this season.

OpTic had won the first battle 3-2 during Major I. Then in the final of the competition, the Texans lifted the trophy in an atmosphere of madness after having defeated Atlanta FaZe 5-2.

After a difficult and trophyless season, OpTic returned to success on Vanguard by achieving a sublime performance against FaZe in the Major I final.

OpTic Texas new Call of Duty League favorite?

The merger with Dallas Empire has resulted in a complete and terribly formidable roster with Dashy, iLLeY, Scump and Shotzzy. OpTic is on 12 straight wins and the sole leader in the standings with 145 CDL points, 15 points ahead of Atlanta FaZe.

The team is making a strong impression and is full of confidence with a Scumpy who is regaining color. The alchemy is felt in particular in Control where OpTic remains on 14 victories in a row. The level they are displaying at the moment has surprised many fans and the route during Major II will be closely scrutinized to see if this roster can hold up for a whole season at the highest rank.

FaZe is less dominant than last year but remains a major favorite to win the title at the end of the season. Being second in the standings without necessarily shining shows that there is still plenty of room for improvement on Vanguard with this roster that knows itself by heart.

Atlanta will still have to be counted on this year in the Call of Duty League, but OpTic Texas now appears to be the FaZe Clan’s main competitor.
