Guest of the show L’oeil de l’Expert on Sud Radio this Wednesday, March 30, 2022, Ronan Folgoas spoke about his relationship with Cédric Jubillar. He notably returned to their first meeting, which took place during the month of April 2021. “I go to Cagnac-les-Mines as a journalist for Le Parisien and I meet someone close to Cédric Jubillar, who tells me a bit about the couple’s storyhe confides to Valérie Expert. Then, perhaps Cédric Jubillar is interested in the approach that is mine, that is to say not to focus on the facts that are possibly reproached to him, but on his history, his personal journey and the story of his couple with Delphine. When he sees this approach, he thinks ‘Why not meet him?’ This is how I come into direct contact with Cédric Jubillar and go to his home for the first time.”

“His lawyers preferred that he not answer my mail”

For two months, Ronan Folgoas rubbed shoulders with Cédric Jubillar in his intimacy, which allowed him to follow the progress of the investigation very closely. The collaboration nevertheless ended on June 18, 2021, when the husband of Delphine Jubillar was indicted for the murder of the latter. The journalist then tried to reconnect to get a reaction on his book. But this time the lawyers of Cédric Jubillar get involved. “I made a point of informing him that I was preparing a book which was partly devoted to him. I wrote to him and I know that he received my letter, (…) I proposed to him to react on the subject of his choice, I did not have a list of questions, but a subject of his choice (…), but his lawyers preferred that he not answer my mail. They preferred to decline my offer.

Although imprisoned for more than 9 months in the Seysses remand center (Haute-Garonne), Cédric Jubillar is still presumed innocent.
