Cédric O, the Secretary of State for Digital, will leave politics after the presidential election


Cédric O will not play extra time. The current Secretary of State for the Digital Transition and Electronic Communications told Release that he would leave office after the presidential election. The former campaign treasurer of Emmanuel Macron in 2017 indeed wishes to abandon politics for the private sector. Cédric O specifies that he informed the Head of State of his decision almost a year ago.

Previously an adviser to the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and to the Prime Minister, Édouard Philippe, already in charge of the digital economy at the time, he will therefore have been the face of the government for three years on digital issues. In his position, he notably launched the Next 40 and French Tech 120 indices, intended to identify the nuggets of French Tech. It was also mobilized for the deployment of 5G and the management of the TousAntiCovid application.
