Celebrities at the German Film Ball 2024: A “family reunion” of the film industry

After three years, the German Film Ball took place again in Munich. For the celebrities, it’s an evening where “everything goes.”

On Saturday evening (January 20th) the 48th German Film Ball took place in Munich at the invitation of the leading organization of the film industry (Spio). Traditionally, the ball was held in the hall of the Bavarian Court. After the cancellations in 2021, 2022 and 2023, the celebrities were now allowed to slip into their black tuxedos and glamorous evening dresses again. The stars were in a good mood and it was clear that they had been longing for the return of the special event.

“Anything goes tonight”

“I was at the last Film Ball in 2020 and am very happy that it is back after four years,” said presenter and actress Palina Rojinski (38) at the event in an interview with spot on news. “The Film Ball always has a special flair. The atmosphere in the Bayerischer Hof simply fits a ball very well.” She is particularly pleased that there is an event in the film industry that “isn’t in Berlin. Germany is big. Berlin is great, it’s my home, but I’m really looking forward to the trip to Munich.” Her plan for the evening was “TT, a little drinking and dancing.” She was particularly happy about meeting Oliver Berben (52) and his wife Katrin, who have long since become her “film ball friends”.

For Florian David Fitz (49) it was also “a drinking evening,” he explained with a laugh about the relaxed atmosphere of the event. And when the cameras leave the hall, he will also be found on the dance floor, the actor revealed. For him, the film ball was even “the consistent continuation” of his youth, as he experienced his dance class prom in the hall of the Bayerischer Hof, Fitz explained his special connection to the Munich venue.

Jan Josef Liefers (59) was also particularly looking forward to the moment when the cameras left the hall: “Then the real party starts. You always have to behave well beforehand,” said the actor, who is together with his wife Anna Loos ( 53) appeared at the ball. “And I’m looking forward to my hangover tomorrow morning. Anything goes tonight.”

“An evening just for us”

For Veronica Ferres (58) and Carsten Maschmeyer (64), the film ball is also one of the most beautiful events of the year: “The special thing is that it is the only German film ball. You dance, eat, drink, laugh, celebrate and are simply exuberant ” said the actress. It was particularly nice for her to “dance with my husband.” Her husband was looking forward to “a quiet evening just for us.”

Influencer Riccardo Simonetti (30) is “always surprised that people actually dance at the film ball. I always thought it was just an event that the film industry went to to get drunk,” he revealed. He let his evening plan come to him: “I neither drink alcohol nor am I particularly good at ballroom dancing, so I’ll see what I’ll do this evening.”
