Celebrity jury is looking for the next NFT superstar

Some of the US stars and starlets are in the NFT frenzy. Now a celebrity jury is starting a contest in which applicants can present their projects and win up to 1 million US dollars.

Non-fungible tokens (NFT) have been a topic of conversation within the crypto space for several months. While many initially considered the NFT to be a fad, in which nerds and geeks traded cat motifs and retro avatars among themselves, the user base has changed dramatically since then. It even seems as if NFTs triggered a revolution in the art, music and entertainment industries. The diverse use cases paired with the advancing digitization should be a reason for the hype, which simply does not want to end. It is not for nothing that the current edition of Cryptocompass deal intensively with the topic.

The enthusiasm for tokens, which declare you to be the clear owner of a digital asset, is now also spreading among the stars of the world. For example, there was the rock band Kings of Leon known to want to release their upcoming album as NFT among others. Twitter founder Jack Dorsey raised $ 2.9 million when he auctioned his first tweet as NFT. And now the owner turns to the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, to the public via Twitter and announces a contest in which applicants can submit their NFT projects. The winners can look forward to a total investment budget of 1 million US dollars.

The jury consists of stars with an affinity for NFT

An NFT-affine celebrity jury, which will be chaired by Mark Cuban, will then decide on the pitch. There is also a place for rap legend and crypto enthusiast Snoop Dogg. Actor and activist Ashton Kutcher is also there. His company Sound ventures is also the organizer of the contest, whose co-founder Guy Oseary is also part of the jury. The DJ and producer 3LAU also takes part in the contest as a juror. The artist has already sold his NFT works for over $ 11 million. The co-founder of Scalar-Capital, Linda Xie, and the NFT collectors Whale Shark and Metakovan are also part of the jury.

The contest is named “NFTs: The Pitch christened and the concept reminds of programs like “Shark Tank” or “Die Höhle der Löwen”. There, young entrepreneurs also try to inspire the jurors with their ideas. Applicants have until April 12th to submit their concepts. On April 21st, the jury will decide which NFT will advance one round. The 30 most promising projects then make it to the final round, the winners of which are then chosen by the eight-member jury. The organizers reserve the right to determine the amount of investments that will benefit the projects themselves. There will be no live broadcast. No matter which projects will win in the end, it is always a triumph for non-fungible tokens.
